Practice, Practice, Practice

" But within you now and always is the unborn possibility of a limitless experience of inner stability and outer treasure, and yours is the privilege of giving birth to it.  And you will, if you can believe".
                                                            -Eric Butterworth, Spiritual Economics

SUNSET When you realize how you have never been going after and pursuing things in your life but that they have always been coming toward you, attracting themselves into your experience, it becomes profoundly easy to breathe a breath of relief.  Regardless of what you do or what is happening around you, it is your conscious evolution that is the driving force within your life.

The law of your being and the laws of the Universe place no responsibility on any force, person deity or teacher outside yourself for the experiences and manifestations in your life.  Your ability to practice the principles of your belief system and demonstrate truth in your everyday life keeps open the portal of unlimited Universal good.  It is done unto you as you believe; your practice is belief in action.  Practice is essential to an evolving consciousness.  As I lie in bed, during the dawning of a new day, I asked the question, what is the way I will make a difference today and leave the group of teens I had just spent two and a half days with, with something to inspire their coming days?  The voice within me whispered, practice, practice, practice.

My practice of journaling quickly evolved into minutes of profound revelation where I realized my reason for being alive.  What were once burning questions transformed themselves into answers of clarity of vision and definite of purpose.  In a moment, I became certain of my reason for being alive and saw how my good has always been seeking me out and expressing itself through me.  I invite you to throw yourself wide open and engage in daily spiritual practice.  The fruits of the spirit are within you and ripe for your picking.  Identify your self with Spirit through personal practice and open the door to realizing your full potential." ..Relationship Between Forgiveness And Compassion

skyCompassion is the understanding that every person is on a journey of self-discovery and we are here to support each other with love and kindness.  Forgiveness is the giving forth of one’s consciousness to the ideal of unconditional love.  There are times when I judge myself and project that judgment onto others.  This projection separates me from them.  Well, not separated in reality but an illusion of separation.  I notice the need for self- forgiveness because I carry the thoughts even when I am out of their presence.

The person is activating something within me that I judge myself for.  As a result, I deny the expression of love to myself as well as to whom I am judging.  In turn, I treat them cold and often shut down in their presence.  I am not free to authentically be fully self -expressed.  I realize I see and experience apart of me as the other person.  It is the part of me that I am unable to embrace and accept.  That part of me I want to deny.  That part of me I hide.  This same part is acting as the superior and judging others.  I noticed how I release my self and others by forgiving myself.  Often there is nothing to forgive about the other person.  Once I release the judgment I can have compassion for that part of my own human expression.  I understand as spiritual beings we all are seeking the same things.

In that moment they become my teacher and I can facilitate my growth.  I can be free to express the love within me.  What a magnificent being God created as the person I was judging.  In this state of compassion I am become alive and in love.  This love softens my heart and directs my mind to engage in actions rooted in love.  I notice the person whom I previously judged never changes yet our interactions or my feelings toward them completely shift.  I am able to accept them as the highest expression of who they really are.  I truly love them because I understand who they are.  I love them because I love myself.  They are me and I am them.  I’ve to realize that forgiveness is the doorway to compassion.

For me forgiveness may be something I am holding onto regarding a person or an old judgment that has not been released or needs releasing again. This must happen before I bring myself to a place of understanding.  When I can understand what is happening in and as the other person, I open myself to acceptance.  It may be acceptance of the situation or acceptance of the person.  Acceptance frees me of the emotions and ideas that blocked my ability to show compassion towards the person.  Most of all, the acceptance is of the things I judge myself for.   I notice sometimes the person may represent an idea of something I have not forgiven myself for and in an instant a barrier exits between me and the other person.

Acceptance has a transcendent nature to it.   I noticed when the necessary forgiveness work was in place compassion is an almost automatic feeling which is present within me.  I did not have to reach for it or even think of it, it just is.  When I practice consistent forgiveness, I believe compassion becomes an active part of my awareness and is expressed in my relationships with others.  I accept forgiveness as an open for compassionate living.
