I enjoy working with my paintings in layers as a process of personal and creative transformation. There is intense joy and fulfillment in my work as creator and witness to the act of creation.

I begin without a visual image in mind but I search within my internal landscape and field of awareness for a feeling or inspirational point that directs my choice of color.  My vocabulary of indirect painting techniques, textures, transparent glazes and movement is supported by a process of creating and destroying (Sanskrit term:Laila) that allows forms to emerge and fade away in an evolving dialogue between myself and the canvas which takes place over extended working periods to facilitate a deep and personal creative exploration. 

  My appreciation for the journey is evident as elements of the total experience are perceptibly visible within my work.  I am more interested in the freedom of the experience, letting go and surrendering to the subtle creative source energy of the moment.  As I work, intuitive connections are developed and the painting informs my ongoing creative choices.  I am most satisfied when I am led rather than imposing a hard will onto my work.  My work began and continues to be a reflection of my journey of self-discovery, meditation practice, spiritual transformation, willingness and reverence for the subtle and mysterious creative force of the Universe. 

These paintings are the combination of a powerful shift in my life and the creative epiphany that resulted.
